Drill & Blast / Tooling
Rods
Handheld Drill Rods
Boart Longyear’s fully carburized collared/taper rods are manufactured for maximum strength and wear resistance. When combined with precision end forms for optimal hammer and bit fit‐up, the result is reduced downtime and improved efficiency.
Rods for handheld drills are available in lengths up to 21 ft (6.4m) with hex cross sections and 7o, 11o and 12o tapers or R25 threads.
Long Hole Drilling
Drill Rods
Long hole rods are available in male‐male and male‐female options.
Drilling with the minimum possible hole deviation is important for more consistent fragmentation, increased efficiency, and reduced operational costs.
The male‐female design configuration eliminates the need for a separate coupling, resulting in fewer threaded connections, reduced hole deviation, and faster additions/removals to the drill string.
Long hole rods are available in a wide range of diameters and threads with lengths up to 21 ft.
Tube Rods
Advancing to tube rods means a greater cross sectional area, increased stiffness, and a further reduction in hole deviation.
Guide rods and guide tubes are available to provide further stability and drilling accuracy.
Tunneling/Drifting Rods
Numerous design configurations are available including Boart Longyear’s DriftMaster™ series.
Tunneling/Drifting rods are available in lengths up 21 ft (6.4m) with hex or round cross sections (25H, 28H, 32H, 35H, 39R) featuring thread sizes up to R38 and HM38.
