roller latch underground system

STRONGER, MORE RELIABLE LATCHING

Roller Latch technology produces stronger, more reliable latching, eliminates drive keys and tangs, and latches radially, without swinging, unlike conventional latch mechanisms, preventing stuck tubes.

HOLD BACK BRAKE

Unique hold-back brake retains inner-tube assemblies in the drill string for safer operations in inclined and up-angle holes, and offers an optional two-handed latch retraction for use without loading sleeves.

W-WALL COMPATIBLE

Underground Quick Pump-In™ Roller Latch head assemblies are equipped with new variable-lip pump-in seals compatible with W-Wall drill rods, offering the advantages of W-Wall in underground applications.  If using heads in a straight wall rod, the original Quick Pump-in seals can also be used.

OVERSHOT FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

The new overshot allows users to eliminate spearheads and lifting dogs entirely. Lifting dogs experience wear on their latching surfaces with every use, as do the spearpoints. Eventually, the surfaces wear, and the connection fails. Our patented Roller Latch design reduces the chance of release due to wear by ensuring rolling engagement and locking.

PUMP-IN CABLE-RELEASE SLEEVE

Sometimes, a driller needs to disengage and retrieve the wireline in order to pull rods. Today, this is done by breaking a shear pin underneath the cable swivel, which is often unreliable, causing the cable to break. With the Quick Pump in Roller Latch Overshot, a slotted sleeve and pumping assembly is placed over the wireline and pumped up to the overshot. The sleeve engages a quick-release mechanism to release the wireline, proving much more reliable than shear pins.

SOCKET ADAPTER & SAFETY PIN

Designed to upgrade existing head assemblies, the spearhead is completely replaced by a socket in the head.  The safety pin provides a secondary safety device under all conditions and does not degrade with overshot wear.

AUTO-RESET LANDING INDICATION

Auto-Reset Landing bypass valve eliminates partial trips & false indications

Adding a spring to the steel ball, the new overshot automatically resets the ball if a snag is hit. The new configuration eliminates premature landing indication and the associated lost time.
