LINK Latch™ Surface system
The Original Link Latch Wireline System
Conventional technology of the time attempted to push the latches indirectly, overcoming poor mechanical leverage and interference with the latch seat. The patented Link Latch™ mechanism, introduced in 1998, reduced “stuck tubes” during wireline retraction by providing mechanical leverage, directly pivoting the latches into the retracted position
Trusted. Reliable. The Original.
MKII Spearhead
MKII Spearhead assembly consists of a redesigned spearpoint and spearhead body for 70% greater strength and safety, self-lubricated nylon material for extended wear and ease of maintenance, and a self-centering plunger for in-hole precision and fewer pinch points compared to older “knuckle head” designs.
Dry Hole Capability
An optional control valve (HQ/PQ) provides a positive latch indication signal and patented ‘Dry Hole Valve’ functionality for lost circulation conditions in deep holes when used with optional ‘Fluid Retention’ valve springs and bushings.
An optional ‘Dry Hole Lowering Kit’ is available to prevent accidental drops by locking the overshot to the spearhead until the latches deploy, preventing the inner tube assembly from being released and causing extensive damage in dry holes.
Overshot Features and Functions
The EZY-Lock™ overshot is a favorite among drillers worldwide. The safety and productivity features in the design ensure highly reliable core barrel retrieval across all surface exploration applications.
Locking Safety Pin
A new self-locking dual-ball detent-pin with a push-button unlock or release feature. The detent balls are driven by an internal shaft, which requires the spring-driven push-button to be depressed to remove the pin and released when fully inserted (locked) to improve the pin’s effectiveness. Also, included is a 4cm (1-1/2”) wide x 13cm (5”) long canvas strap ‘safety flag’ to aid the management and application of safety devices in the field.
Ezy-Lock Sleeve
Provides a quick, one-handed 90° rotation of the sleeve to lock the overshot lifting dogs to the spearpoint and protects against accidental release.
